Summary:
Seeking a technically proficient Senior Accountant to manage system-generated accounting processes tied to the global digital distribution of motion pictures and television series across platforms such as Video on Demand (VOD) and Electronic Sell-Through (EST). This role focuses on the daily ingestion, validation, and reconciliation of third-party customer statements through platforms such as Whip Media and Media Maestro. The ideal candidate has a strong foundation in accounting principles, experience with revenue recognition, and a working knowledge of financial system integrations. Responsibilities include maintaining data integrity across ingestion workflows, ensuring accurate financial mapping, and supporting the month-end close through automated system outputs.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee financial data flow between rights management systems (Media Maestro, Whip Media) and ERP platforms (SAP, Oracle)
  • Review and validate digital license agreements, metadata, and distribution rights to ensure accurate revenue recognition, proper billing setup, and alignment with contractual terms
  • Monitor system interfaces and troubleshoot discrepancies between systems
  • Perform User Acceptance Testing (UAT) for WhipMedia and Media Maestro to support new customer onboarding, ingestion workflows, system upgrades, and platform enhancements
  • Support month-end close by preparing system-generated reports, journal entries, and reconciliations
  • Assist with ad-hoc reporting and financial analysis

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting; CPA or equivalent certification preferred
  • 3–5+ years of hands-on accounting experience, preferably within media, entertainment, or distribution
  • Experience with month-end close, financial reporting, and account reconciliations
  • Hands-on experience with ERP systems (particularly Oracle and/or SAP) and reporting tools
  • Comfortable supporting reporting deadlines that may occasionally fall on weekends
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, complex formulas)
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills across financial and operational systems
  • Experience with system integration, data validation, and process automation
  • Capable of managing multiple priorities and meeting tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment

Pay Rate: $50 – $65
