Our client, a leading pharmaceutical company, is hiring a Laboratory Technician, on a contract basis.

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelors degree with 2 years’ experience with laboratory management.
  • 1 year experience with MS Office Products: Outlook, Word, Excel
  • Organizational Skills – creative thinking, analyzing issues, decision making, collaboration
  • Fluency with Microsoft Office and Excel with excellent writing skills
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal are required
  • Ability to work independently and effectively collaborate with teams
  • Hands-on experience in a laboratory setting and basic knowledge of chemistry is a benefit
  • Familiarity with relevant quality, regulatory and ICH guidelines highly desirable

Responsibilities:

  • Independently execute routine lab operations activities including, but not limited to:
  • Maintaining consumable and chemical ordering lists, as well as chemical inventory to ensure uninterrupted stocks are available to analytical labs
  • Ordering non-routine lab supplies, familiarity with associated software (Arriba, RIO), working with outside departments including Finance
  • Schedules equipment maintenance as needed and works with vendors/engineers (Waters, Sciex, Protein Simple, ThermoFisher) to keep instrumentation in proper working order in a timely manner
  • Assist in lab organizational activities and lead a culture of continuous improvement
  • Maintaining schedules for routine lab maintenance and cleaning, familiar with concepts and execution of 5S programs
  • Coordinating shipping and staying updated on current international shipping policies, as well as receiving of packages–also maintain applicable shipping documentation (hard copy and e-Copy).
  • Attending facilities and operations meetings
  • Communicate progress and findings on an as-needed basis with supervisor and associated group members.
  • Lead team meeting at least once a month: set agenda, communicate general and lab focused safety inspections, reporting to the group applicable updates regarding Safety, 5 S processes.
