Payroll Associate

Our client, a leading book publishing company, is hiring a Payroll Associate on a contract basis

Work Location:  Culver City, CA/Hybrid

Summary:

This position will be directly supporting the production payroll team.

Job Responsibilities / Typical Day in the Role Matching CC, SD, and EP
invoices
o Checking fringes and calling out any errors
o Email CC client services with any POET updates
o Update DTS with check numbers and pay dates
o Drop the invoices to the ABS folder to get them paid
Downloads new payroll – AP, CC, SD and EP
o Rearrange paperwork and check to remove passports
o Be a second pair of eyes
o Flag any discrepancies immediately
o AP add internal back up for recurring’s
o Label payment as a RUSH, SUPER RUSH, IATSE or UPA
Monitor teams’ folders for recurring’s or new start forms
o Update smartsheets on new recurrings (date, amount)
o Email CC new address changes
Email WGA once a month with fringe report.
– Pull CC and AP 1st and rest of the month about a month an a half before they are due
– Ad-hoc projects as needed.

Must Have Skills / Requirements
1)  3 years’ experience in payroll systems
2) Year- end processing experience
3) Advanced Microsoft excel experience relating to reporting

1) Strong business acumen
2) Agile and curious mindset
3) Excellent written and verbal communication

Nice to Have

1) Union background – WGA
2) Entertainment industry experience

Education / Certifications
* Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business, or finance required

Pay Range:  $24-25
