Our client, a leading hospitality company, is hiring a Software Engineer – Technical F&B POS on a contract basis.

Work Location:

Can be 100% remote.
 

Summary:

Functions as a technical expert. Resolves and makes decisions on complex, non-routine service requests with limited to moderate risk. Performs research, analysis, design, creation and implementation of applications to meet current and future user requirements. Defines and creates the next generation of solutions to drive value. Monitors projects by Service Provider to successful completion, maintaining scope within the time and budget constraints. Creates solutions that serve our business leveraging current and leading-edge technologies in an innovative and impactful manner.

CORE WORK ACTIVITIES

Technical Leadership:
• Trains and/or mentors other team members, and peers as appropriate.
• Provides financial input on department or project budgets, capital expenditures or other cost/resource estimates as requested.
• Identifies opportunities to enhance the service delivery processes.

Delivering Technology:
• Performs complex quantitative and qualitative analyses for service delivery processes and projects.
• Facilitates achievement of expected deliverables and obligations of Services Providers.
• Validates completeness of requirements prior to Service Provider solutioning.
• Ensures all projects follow the defined development and business case processes.
• Ensures proper coordination with appropriate IT and vendor relations teams.
• Provides consultation for routine and complex systems development.
• Ensures early warning to the business stakeholder executives regarding degraded or missed service levels.
• Coordinates with Operations and Infrastructure teams for deployment and production support activities.
 

Required Skills:

Must Have
– Deep POS Experience (multiple F&B POS).
– Large enterprise environment.
– Good communications skills.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Required:
• 5+ years F&B POS experience with expert-level expertise in multiple POS systems.
• Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience/certification. Proficiency with creating documentation, business tools such as Word, Power Point, Excel, Teams, Jira.

Preferred:
• Graduate degree.
• Technology certifications.
• Demonstrated ability to anticipate future software opportunities.
• Technology leadership experience in a sourced environment.

General Description:
• Functions as a technical expert with F&B Point of Sale, including Oracle Simphony, Shiji Infrasys, and others. Desirable skills include POS configuration and deployment, reports and exports, interfaces between POS and other systems such as PMS, L3 support, testing/QA, scripting and other supportive tools, and general knowledge of related technologies in a large enterprise environment.

•Depending on the persons background, work could include any of the following:  Assist with L3 escalation of complex issues related to POS systems. Perform or assists with research, analysis, design, integration, implementation of current and proof-of-concept implementations of POS related technologies. Collaborates extensively with the GPOS team on projects as needed.

Pay Range:  $50 – $60/hr.
